NUSTALGIC joins cross-project dialogue at Tropentag 2026

On 16 September 2026, NUSTALGIC joined PRIMA and other EU-funded projects for a special joint session at Tropentag 2026 in Göttingen, Germany.

The session brought together projects working across three interconnected areas: integrated water management and agroecological restoration; biodiversity, neglected species and circular value chains; and governance, scaling and policy integration.

NUSTALGIC contributed its experience with neglected and underutilised species, water-harvesting solutions and traditional water-management practices, as well as the opportunities and challenges involved in scaling approaches that can be adopted and maintained in real farming contexts.

The discussion created a space to move beyond individual project results and identify shared lessons across Mediterranean initiatives. For NUSTALGIC, the exchange reinforced the importance of combining technologies and scientific innovation with local knowledge, field experience, supportive governance and the conditions required for successful adoption.

The session included contributions from NUSTALGIC, WATERMELLON, Wefe4med, VENUS, TransforMed, BONEX, BLUMI-Med, Agroforesteam, LegumES and VALERECO.
